Washington, D.C., November 16, 2004 – On September 30, 2004, the Department of Justice (DOJ) issued a “notice of proposed rulemaking” regarding its process to issue rules on the enforcement of the revised ADAAG/ABAAG published in July by the Access Board. Stress -

  • Instron's Definition- n: Load on a specimen divided by the area through which it acts. As used with most mechanical tests, stress is based on original cross section area without taking into account in area due to applied load. This sometimes is called conventional or engineering stress. True stress is equal to the load divided by the instantaneous cross-sectional area through which it acts.

WEST VIRGINIA’s BELPRE BRIDGE GETS ‘LEVELED’ BY POLY-CARB, INC.

The Belpre bridge, approximately 140,000 square feet over the Ohio River, has been a public nuisance due to its riding surface.  Concrete leveling between the deck joints has left the area around more than 20 joints elevated above the rest of the driving surface.  This problem caused riders to ‘bounce’ across the bridge after hitting the first joint.    Link to full story
