Stress Relaxation -
Instron's Definition- n: Decrease in stress in material subjected to prolonged constant temperature. Stress relaxation behavior is determined in a creep test. Data often is presented in the form of a stress vs. time plot. Stress relaxation rate is the slope of the curve at any point.
Webster's Definition- Stress (n) (physics) force that produces strain on a physical body. Relaxation (n) The exponential return of a system to equilibrium after a disturbance. The releasing of strains and stresses in textile materials.
